Our latest paper “Moldy Ghosts and Yeasty Invasions: Glitches in Hybrid Bio-Digital Games” has been accepted under Late Breaking Work, at this year’s ACM CHI conference. The paper reports on two incidences of ‘glitching’, occurring as direct result of interactions between micro-organisms and computer systems. We highlight the distinguishing features of our observed glitches from those found in conventional computer games. We propose paths to capitalise on the opportunities and challenges they bring for future HCI investigations.
